This morning I was going into a resident's room (I work at a nursing home) to check on them......... well I didn't see the "wetness" on the floor (a.k.a. urine
) and I slipped and fell and dislocated my knee.... I go tomorrow for a specialist to look at it so....... now..... I have all the time in the world to lay here on my little laptop and type away and read swf.com message boards................. that's the sliver lining in the clouds I guess..

Not to make light of it, but its just dislocated? count your blessings, knees are a beast if they are physically damaged internally. Catch up on your reading and hope ya feel better

You poor thing!
I hope you get to feeling better... I'm so sorry that happened. You must have a VERY rewarding job, though.
I'm glad that you didn't break your leg or anything! : )

yes I truely love my job............ right now I'm a nurse aid...... (second job as a cosmetologist 5 years in that so far) .. but I will be going to nursing school very soon.......when i get everything i need to straighten out..
the only thing i hate is the whole watching someone actively die........... I will never like it......... I think its because there is nothing you can do when that starts to happen........ it sucks....

Yeah... I've heard.
My auntie used to work at one, and she was very attached to a little old lady and had to watch her die...
I'm very soft hearted and I love people... I'd be attached to all of them.
But I think that is important. People should be more concerned about giving the patients true friendship and happiness before they die... It seems nicer than being selfish with the, "It'll make me sad when they die" thing.
That is exaaaaaaaaaactly what I would like to do for my next internship! : )
