After much debate I bought the Coralife 9" 18 watt mini aqualight fixutre.
I am quite surprised that many folks have this little fixture over a 10 gal tank. I don't think it is capable of a 10 gal I have it over my 1 gal and just in the midst of finding the proper hieght for it so it does not heat my water up.
Although very cute and compact I would not put this little light on anything bigger than a 2 gal if you are like me and have corals and no fish.
Anyone else here have this fixture?? What are your opinions??

People put that light over a 10 gallon
That sounds insane, but anyhow probably will work great for you in your pico. Got any pics?

I would not put this over a 10 gal, not near enough light for that. My 10 gal use to have only 30 watts and most folks use the 96watt coralife fixture for their 10 gals.
My lfs also said it is not near enough for a 10 gal 5 and under is fine.
I will post a picture once I have it set where it should be for height. I want to make a nice wooded holder for it and the tank so it looks nice.
But back to it being to much for the one gal, I have been told by a few on here that it still is not enough for corals.....

I was using the light it came with the 7 watt 7200k pc and everything was doing well so I can only imagine things will do better once I have it setup right.

Not the best picture but to see it here is a huge difference. From 7200K Pc to 50/50 10,000k + Actinic PC
Very hard to photograph through this tank, plexi glass I find gives you that magnified look.
The corals especially the gsp are very brilliant, the ric is amazing now as it is quite small in size but looks 100% better in this light, the zoas just pop.
I am happy with it, love the way it looks but I would not put this fixture on anything bigger than a 2 gal this is just my opinion.

Thanks, I appreciate the comment. I have to say I really like the fixture.
No sure if I am going to keep the brain though, I recieved it back from the people that bought everything from my 10 gal. I am nursing it back to health as it was in horrible condition as you can see. So far it is responding quite well.
I love the color of it I just don't know where to put it. I need to rearrange the tank and I don't want to get rid of the gsp as they are so neat and the color with this light, wow. Everything looks sooo good even my tiny frags of zoas are looking really good.
Brains get quite large so don't know how long it will do in this little tank.
Looking forward to seeing yours when you are finished.
