My neighbor has a bunch of land south of here that we go shoot at once a month. I like shooting with him because he's like me in the sense that he likes to shoot up odd things besides your standard shooting targets. Let's see what's on the list today:
VCR
Clay Pigeons
Monitor
Aquarium
Books
Bowling Ball
Golf Balls (hard to hit at a distance!)
We also have a odd assortment of things to shoot:
I will be bringing my .38 snubnose, .40 Springfield XD and Ruger .22.
Other guns:
AR15
Tactical pump action shotgun
Assorment of .22s
9 mill Beretta and Glock
.45 Glock
.45 Sig
SKS assault rifle
Some sort of Colt revolver
+ others
Should make for an interesting shoot out!

That sounds like a blast!! (no pun intended) I wish there was a place around here to do that but I live in suburbia.

It was fun! I grew up in the country in another town where I could just step in the backyard and shoot away. Man, I really miss that sort of privacy!

Is this Urban hunting or a junkyard shootout?

self procliamed gun nut that I am, I read about and heard about the Springfield XD series. Thought it was all horseapples for the magazines and such the way people were raving about them.
So naturally I bought a 9mm and the compact .45 they are evrything they rave about and more. My opinion is thriftstores are best to get targets at. And grocery stores. Pumkins and Cabtalopes with the 50 cal...............done it a hundred times and it just never gets old! Be safe and have fun

use a 35mm film container filled with flour as a target. Nice and small for a challenge and explodes white.

Thanks Reef and Hot for the taqrget ideas. We have filled bottles with paint but the effect wasn't as sweet as we hoped plus it did make quite a mess.

Plastic milk jugs filled with water work well or a case of cheap soda pop...drink a few...shoot a few...recycle the cans and buy some more.
Hope you had fun.
ps If the milk jugs seem easy to hit you are too close

We set up a bunch of spent shells. either shotgun or .223 or whatever. With a pistol stand arround 10-20 feet and take turns, with a rifle get back a little ways. Fun way to compete with friends. You shoot, then they shoot, whoever gets more wins. The coolest thing is every time you pull the trigger, you have another target.

I actually have a bag of toys now for our next shoot. We cleaned my daughter's room last weekend and we discovered she has way too much junk. Grandma buys her everything.

Kewl beans!! Wish we could do that sort of thing around here. I'm just DYING to explode a watermelon with my Husband's AR15. We shot at some cans and bottles once.... but we had to go visit the in-laws in Texas for that.
Oh well, at least we've got skeet. We're actually going today, I bought my Man a new stock for his Remmy and we're going to try it out this afternoon. Lookout clays, here we come!
