I've been looking for a 55 gal. in the N. Jersey area for quite some time now... As luck would have it, a friend of mine is GIVING me a 40 gal. hex.
It's not my first choice for a setup, but it's going to get me off and running with a decent amount of water volume. So, my general question is: Who has hex tanks (what sizes) and what do you run in the entire system and how. I'm trying to figure out where the hell I'm going to put this thing and how to run a sump, etc...
It will be coming with a stand, so I could put a small sump in there...Also, it's acrylic, so I can drill and pipe everything...
Any ideas are welcome!!!
TIA,

IMO a hex tank is hard to set up as a reef tank. I would try to sell that tank and buy what you really want. It would make a nicer looking tank anyway.

I agree with Slick, i hate hex tanks. Time to liquidate that sucker and buy something that you will LOVE
