I remember the old owner of a LFS years ago telling my mom to make sure I washed my hands after touching any coral in our tanks. I remember him saying that some coral have bacteria strains like syphilis and gonorrhea and some are toxic. IDK how true it is but from that day on, I never touch them with out gloves and always washing my hands when I was done.
Yes I use gloves not all the time but if I have a purpose to touch the coral I will put gloves on.
I use the coralife shoulder gloves, a little cumbersome but at least I’m not getting wet or skin contact with anything.
