Well Water and RO/DI system

Well I stumbled on a thread on another forum where someone had their well water tested before buying an RO/DI system, and the lfs that tested it said that something was too high and an RO/DI would be pointless.
Well I'm running off well water, so I'm wondering if it's not safe or safe to add the water I'm mixing now into my aquariums.

I've had one on well water in NJ and here in VA without any noticeable issues. The water in NJ tested way higher then it does here and after going through the Ro/di its just about the same. If i remember correcty I was ending up with around a 5 ppm reading in NJ and now 0 ppm here in VA.

usually well water is high in silicates. DI will remove this, but unless you have a super-duper well pump you may not get enough pressure to operate an RO correctly or end up replaceing the membrane prematurely. You might have to get a booster pump for the RO unit to get enough pressure behind it.
On a tank I maintain for someone we tried an RO unit on their well and it wouldn't put out water after about 4 months, replaced the membrane and same thing happened. She didn't want to invenst in a booster pump so I have sediment, carbon and very large DI prefilter and her tank is doing better than others around here on RO/DI fed by city. Been over a year on this set-up.

Yeah the RO/DI I have is supposed to be 24gpd and I'm getting about 5gpd. What kind of booster pump do you recommend?
