westboro 'baptist' church??!!

I am up late tonight (insomnia)so i was cruising the web and checked in on the trapped miners where i found a link to the sago mine tragedy ,which said that 'members of a certain baptist church' protested at their funerals .I'm horrified that someone actually calling themselves 'christians' would act this way.Why do they have links to pictures of their children smiling and waving holding signs at soldiers funerals while their families are in mourning? Why are they so proud to raise their children like that ?Why would they choose a funeral of a homosexual woman that was killed in a vicious dog attack to protest their anti gay movement? I shot them a comment asking (very nicely i might add) for answers because I just don't understand how someone can be so heartless and cruel .they were protesting at soldiers funerals as late as august 2nd. i know theres a few lawyers on here .why can't they be stopped? My father is a pastor at a small christian church here , before that he was a youth minister at a baptist church and at an assembly of god church , so i have spent practically my whole life in church and never have i seen any other church spew forth the hatred and bile that they do and why does the baptist church still allow them to call themselves 'baptist' because i know they couldn't possibly enjoy being connected with this trash. does anyone know if they are actually affiliated with the baptist church? i hope they don't protest these miners funerals .sorry about the rant. if anyone's got an answer let me know

as someone who lives near this cult, i can answer.
if you actually care and don't like them then edit your post to take out all mention of them. they thrive off internet publicity. call them westbroro or whatever.
the family is comprised mostly of high profile lawyers who take on any supreme court they can for publicity. i do believe it's wrong to expose children to this, but hey, this is kansas. bob dole did a good thing here (sarcasm).
shout out to phag phelts and his cult. i hope they all realize when they go to he11 for protesting honest soldiers deaths.

i'm guessing you are right about the publicity thing so i did remove the name , that just eats me up how some people can blindly hate so much

they are lawyers? i think i may have seen a woman for them a while back possibly here screaming about jesus hating gays on an interview,i kinda wonder if they ever watch themselves on tv or the net and see how ridiculous they look

Is this the same group that goes to military funerals all over the country and waves signs that say "God Hates Fags" and "Thank God for IED's"??? I heard that there is some veterans biker group that follows these idiots to the funerals and holds up flags so the families cannot witness this ignorance. I just wish the FBI would start a team to pick this group apart - I'm sure somebodys working it. If anyone is in the bureau thats reading this, I get out of the Corps this time next year and have one hell of a happy trigger finger...

As far as being "Baptist", they were founded as a ""Primitive Baptist" church. Not sure if Primitive Baptists have a convention like Southern Baptists, but I highly doubt they have any support from other churches...
From a theological stand point they are idiots. They believe in all 5 points of Calvanism (including Predestiniation) yet protest folks for sinning.... I might email them and see if someone can explain that little tidbit.

....I stood up to a protester one day and told her " if It wasn't for my husband and many other people gay or not fighting in this war she was protesting... she wouldn't be able to wave that sign of hate"..."so think about it as one day you will meet your creator and you will be judged as you are judging others right now...so I would really think about what you are doing". I came back to that corner about 10 mins later and they were all gone

. I think it's sad that people have to stoop this low just to get attention. I live by these words everyday...Do unto others as you would have them do unto you...I'm sure none of them would want a bunch of people showing a display of disrespect at any of there family's funerals. So I don't understand what they are trying to gain in doing all this...I would love to know if they email you back with any good reasonings to their actions.

these people again? they really, really don't know when to quit. i guess the phrase "hate the sin but love the sinner" is not something that they've heard before

. that they can affiliate themselves with any denomination of the christian religion is rediculous. i see no difference between them and clan members; they spread their hatred and spoon feed it to their children until they're just like their parents.
you should definately email them journey. i don't understand why they're trying to "save" people (if that's what they think they're doing) if they beleive in predestination. if the boats already full, why put more people on

What you should do is wait for one of them to die and then protest their funeral.
