its the filter b4 the pump...i have a pre filter at the skimmer box..then a poly pad filter above the bio balls.. what i wanted to do is remove that last filter sponge and fill the bottom woth live rock rubble and cheto and i would put a divider at the pump so the cheto wouldnt get sucked into the pump

Yep thats the same one I have. I drilled a hole in it for a bulkhead. And hooked 2 of them together and made it a sump in 1. Fuge in the other
