wet skimming vs dry skimming

I have my ss65 set up for dry skimming. it seems to work good, but at this rate, i would only have to clean the cup 3 times a year. sounds too easy to me. What are the pros and cons of each?

Ha... I asked the same question. The reply I got "Wet is wetter and dry is dryer." It's easier to clean a wet collection cup as the "nasty" doesn't get caked onto the side. However, in wet skimming it could take out some saltwater but if you do weekly changes it shouldn't be to bothersome. Again, keep in mind I have zero hands on but am a sponge and thus still researching.
On another note... Have you noticed a drop in nitrates since the fuge?

I have my Skimmer set to wet skim instead of dry. Once every 3 days I pull the drain plug out of the bottom of the collection and drain the brown water. I would set it to dry skim but the water is really dark and not light in color so I figure its removing a lot of waste by skimming wet.
