What a POS!

I thought that I would try the Visi-jet skimmer for my little reef tank since I needed some thing small and hang on or in the tank, so I found what I thought was a good deal on ---- for the skimmer. I get it out of the box and there are no real instructions on how to put it together, the whole thing is held together with a Zip tie, which was missing.
The supplied air line is to small for the supplied fittings and the suction cups don't hold the thing straight up and down, heck they barely hold onto the glass. It blasts a ton of air bubbles into the tank and no skimate is being produced at all, if I do turn it up enough to produce any thing my tank is white with air bubble. What a joke.

So much for a bargain, now I will need to buy a REAL skimmer and I'm out the cost of the toy. I guess that I can put it back on ---- and try to get part of my money back, but frankly, I would hate to saddle any one else with the this piece of junk. I guess that I can always use the power head some were.....

I take back a little bit of what I said about the toy skimmer. I came home this morning and there was water on the floor and down the side of the tank.... hmmm did the toy over flow? Nope, is there a leak, nope.... ??????? Now that I think about it, the cat probably tried to jump on the tank and fell in.
But I did notice that there are fewer bubbles coming out and there is actually a little dirty foam building in the skimmer, so I turned up the flow a bit and it looks like the thing may actually work to some extent. :) I will try to modify it a bit this weekend and see if I can stop the air bubbles from going into the tank, maybe add so more pipe and make it longer or even stuff some filter material in the bottom to trap the bubbles inside.

I see that you are a fellow cat lover.

Yes, she's fine. She's always trying to jump on top of my aquariums, she likes to catch me with both hands full working on a tank and jump on my back to try and get on top of the tank. (I have the scars to prove it) This tank used to have a cover but I took it off when I moved the corals to it and she can't seem to remember that little fact, no matter how many times she gets up there.

That was my biggest fear, that he would fall in....BUT the 225G is too high (I hope) and the other 2 tanks are kinda diverted with the lights
