What a shock!

Literally.
I was doing some new routine maintenance and I grabbed my Finnex 500w heater and the thing shocked the heck out of my hand and arm. WOW. Needless to say it's pulled out of the tank and I'm on the prowl for a new one.
I just wanted to post this to let someone know about the faultyness of Finnex heaters... at least the 500w versions. I also wanted to get some titanium heater recommendations while I am at it.
Thanks.
-Seth.

GFCI is your friend.
I've use Won Brothers Titanium with no issues.
It wasn't so "shocking" that I would be dead or anything ...
It's just scary to think that my fish have been feeling some voltage/electric flow for who knows how long and I haven't noticed it.
I guess I'll have to install that GFCI that I bought a year ago pretty soon. I'll have to ask my landlord if I can first, but yeah, it's going on ASAP.

The fish may not have felt anything if the tank wasn't grounded until you grounded the heater using your body.
