What about Bob?

Bob is a Clarky clownfish that I have had for about two years now. He is very active, and has lots of personality. Bob is a bit aggressive, highly territorial, and he is well known among his other tankmates, as a bit of a bully.
Here's the twist in Bob's personality though. He tends to take very good care of the cleanup crew. I've witnessed him on many occasions bringing morsels of food to the Pistol shrimp, hermits, Brittle star, and even the snails. Recently I switched my whole set up from one tank to another, and in the process, my brittle lost a part of one of his arms. He pretty much went into regeneration mode and stopped moving and scavenging for about three weeks. Bob took care of him. He brought every peice of food he could to the star, and stood gaurd right outside the little crevace where the star was recovering.
Bob is a bit of a punk.....but seems to have a heart.
Just a general question though.....
Is this behavior common in clown fish? I know that they can take to anemones etc.....but to actually appear to be caring for other tankmates?? Is that normal, or is Bob special?

I'm interested in this as well.
My gramma got beat up pretty badly yesterday by my now-returned Sixline, and afterwards, when it was cowering under a ledge, my Tomato was standing guard near it.
At least I think it was standing guard. Could have been 'vulture' behavior.

I have a HUGE female maroon clown in my VERY agressive tank that always brings food to her little boy clown whom hides in the rocks all the time (which is why i cant remove him
) and she kinds hovers over the kole tang to 'protect' him from my niger trigger when i feed them.

I doubt your tomato was standing guard. He was probably waiting for him to come back out so he could finish him off! As for Bob that is very weird behavior but he might be fattening them up for thankgiving dinner.

LOL...now thats funny.
If the other tank mate are with the tomato for 2 years, and it always been like this, than you got yourself a lucky tomato..................for now at least.

I have no idea of how to answer your question, but your thread title warranted a comment anyway! Hope it works out!
