What are acceptable stray voltage values?

What are you acceptable stray voltage values? I just did a search everyone is installing grounding probes to eliminate these stray voltages. No one gives the amount of current they measured before. I found after reading of .001volts. I measured 160 mv in the tank and 152 milli volts in the sump.
Can someone help with these figures.

Well, IMO, no acceptable voltage is best. For technical measures, I'll move your inquiry over to the Equiptment Forum.
Are you using a ground probes now?

No, I never had any grounding probes.I never had hlle or any reason to try them in 8 years. I may add another gaget to my collection. My friend has a yellow tang with the hlle, and I told him I would measure his stray voltage for him. At .1 is with a probe I was told. Mine at .150 with out one. I may need a back up peace of mind probe though.

Well, I am now opposed to grounding rods.
I have some salt creep on the PC bulb on my 'fuge. It got enough continuity to shock the daylights out of me yesterday.
Interestingly enough, when my finger grounded the tank, the fish( which were swimming over to get fed) went bezerk for the 1/2second it took me to remove my numb finger.
They were fine up until that point.
Time for a GFI.

Yahoo, just increased the size of the email box without notice. The mail was down 2 days. I measured the voltage on my friends tanks. His 55 gallon reef that I gave him, was 20 volts ac. The hlle on his yellow tang is definitly from this. We took the grounding probe from upstairs on the 120 fish only tank because that only read 3 volts without one, we took it untill he could get another one. The voltage read .005 milli volts on the 55 gallon reef after checking it with a fluke meter. What a difference it made. The green star polps were emitting a white bubbly substance underneath and were closed. The opened right away. Also the light are 4in above the surface of the water they also were emitting a radom up and down voltyage into the water. The lights penatrated voltage thru the air into the water. I do know that current kills you not voltage. Like in birds on the power line high voltage no current until you ground the bird instant smoke.
