What are good fish to keep with large lionfish

Hello,
I have a 150 gallon aquarium that is 2 feet wide by 4 feet long and a little over 2 1/2 feet tall. I would like a large lionfish (violion- I know its not the correct spelling but you get the point :0) ) Wanting to know what other fish would go good with it. I was told there are two triggers that WILL NOT nip its fins ( blue throat and pinktail I think) Maybe a marron clown? Any suggestions would be good. Thanks.

any peaceful fish the lion can't swallow whole
lions can't handle aggresion like other fish lions are slow swimmers and can't hide from there attacker. the pioson spines will not prevent the fish from attacking the lion.

Blue cheek, Pink-tailed, Niger might be ok with a lion fish, or so i just read on a lion fish page.
Good tankmates are tangs, sturgeon fish and boxfish.

LOL a whole bunch of damsels, never ending food supply

Okay no really, non-aggressive tankmates. I agree with tangs, and surgeon fish but you may be able to try the maroon clowns, or some dwarf angels also..

This happened to me several years ago.
I added a blue jaw trigger to my tank that had a lion fish.
He proceeded to attack the lion fish constantly.
Next morning he was dead.
I guess one of the spines got him.

I have a 55 gal with a lonesome snowflake eel.
I plan to add a flame angel and a lionfish
Neither the flame angel nor the eel fit the lionfish mouth.
I read that nobody attacks the lionfish because it's venimous.
Is it true.
Is my planned stocking OK?
thanks

it is not true that nothing will go after a lionfish because it is venomous. also, i would not consider putting a volitan lion in a 55. there are smaller lions that might work, but a fuzzy dwarf might end up being an expensive meal for your eel. i've seen radiata's in 55 gallons and they seemed pretty content.

No on the maroon. My lion would eat that in a heart beat.
A big female maroon should be safe. Mine is a big, bulky 6" clown,my Volitan is about 14". Borderline for sure.
nycbob any fish the lionfish cant swallow whole would do fine
There are lots of puffers and most triggers that will harass any lion to death.

I had a clown trigger with my lion for about a year and he never bothered him. (Trigger ended up getting killed by my jeweled moray during feeding).

We have a 6" porcupine & 6" dogface puffer in our 72g. Our lion is never pestered by either of them. Not one fin nip. They act like he isn't even there & it's not like he is small. We also keep our fish fat and jolly though.

Somewhere, someone has done everything possible in this hobby with limited success; I consider those experiences exceptions to what every published expert advises. You pays your money and you takes your chances.
