What are pods? .

Hi,
 
Copepods and isopods are little critters that live in and around the rocks and sand bed. Fish eat them, I think that they eat fish poo after it breaks down a bit for lack of a better way of putting it. Good critters to have plenty of.

In tanks that have a lot of pods, you can see them all over the rock and glass at night. They look like little tiny white bugs.
 
Realize that copepod is pronounced with a long "O" and long "E." Sort of like Copeypod.

I always said Cope-Pod
My LFS guy calls them coco pods, drives me crazy lol

copepods and Amphipods, not isopods. Isopods are bad for fish, they are parasites. Link to picture below:

Not all isopods are parasitic. The majority of isopods in captive systems are Munnid isopods, which are herbivores, and not a problem at all, and are great food for fish.
