Hi all,
What are some good shows and places to see while in Vegas?
We plan on seeing George Carlon while we are there and I saw an ad for a show called Shock!(has anyone seen this?)
We plan on going the week after Thanksgiving.
Thanks, Lisa

If Don Rickles is there....he is a legend. fanastic show. Go to just about casino there. They are tourist attractions in themselves. The Venetian has gondola rides, Mandalay Bay has an awesom shark/fish exhibit. The M&M store is a must. . I had fun in there. What else could you ask for but 3 floors of nothing but M&M stuff. I also hear Blue Man Group puts on a great show. They were here in STL, but we missed it. Lemme think some more. :D

dunno if I would spend the money on george carlin.. I was always a big fan but the last 2 times I saw him live were terrible. He is using all of the same material from like 10 years ago without changing it at all. the last time I saw him the crowd was silent through a lot of the show and I wont be going to see him again... this was last year. just my $0.02

Hi Lisa,
Just a word on Carlin. I have been one of his biggest fans for 20 years. I have seen him 2 times recently and he was just in town here a month ago. One of my coworkers went and said a lot of people walked out. His material has gotten so political and so insulting that he is just not entertaining any longer. He said he would never pay to see him again. Choice is yours, but there are much better things to see in Vegas. You can catch Carlin in other places and much cheaper.
Now what to see . . . that is a tough question. So much. The best show their in my opinion is "O" at the Bellagio if it is still running. It is very hard to get ticket and we would not have been able to except that we stayed there and they hold seats for their guests. It is a Circus d Sole (sp) that is performed on stage and water. You never know if the stage is there or water. It is facinating! No cheap, but worth it.
There is also the fountains in front of the Bellagio which are free. Just a few to consider.

Thanks guys/gals,
George Carlon is a must for us. Tom said we can do anything I want as long as we go and see him. I will pass the info tohim though and let him decide. We plan on going for 4 or 5 days, so I want to see as much as possible. Thanks and keep it comming...Lisa

Hey, I take that Tom is doing better these days if he is getting out Vegas? If so, that is great news.

Tangman,
Tom is not much better. But he has wanted to take a trip just the two of us for a long time. Since we have been talking about it for the last week his spirts have seem better. I'm hoping getting out for a while will help him improve some. Thanks for asking. Lisa

if you are 21 there is a bar at treasure island called Kahunaville where the bartenders are straight out of the movie cocktail. Also the VOODOO Lounge at the Rio is awesome and if you are over there take a look at the ghost bar at the Palms.
Also check out Fremont Street (the old Vegas) They have an awesome structure that looks like a very long arch, completely covered with lights. They do shows on it like every 1/2 an hour after dusk.
The water/music show in front of the bellagio is a must though, it is awesome.
Then if you go in the

[hr]
, walk around the shops and look at the statues in the middle of the walkways. 50% of the time, not all of them are statues, but you will never be able to tell until they scare the crap out of you.
It is a fun place, but stay out of trouble.

I would "X' Out George as well, I've seen him there as well and at the show he was terrible, people were also walking out, he was actually forgetting his lines. If he's a big fan, keep it that way and dont see the show or else you may think else afterwards. No one has mentioned Mandalay Bay, a must see, its a great casino with a lot to do, the Shark Encounter is awesome as well as the mall at Ceasers. Too much to actually suggest, my recommendation is to just walk the strip and go in and out of every Casino, its a long strip and a lot of Casino's so put on some comfortable shoes. Have a great time!
