well my parents are eventually going to get a big tank for the show piece of our den, something around a 75 (something bigger if it will fit) but what would be some schooling fish that we could put in there, i have always thought it'd be cool to have some fish school in one of the tanks.....

Green Chromis; though they need to be kept in odd-numbered groups of at least 5 to keep them from killing each other off.
Also, a harem of Anthias with one male and several females would be nice! They are more difficult to take care of and shoal rather than school.

its very tough to get chromis to school...usualy you end up with just one becasue he was the most dominant and killed the rest.
3 royal grammas form a nice harem..they wont school but will hang around together and breed readily. justy make sure you get 3 small ones or 2small and 1 big. the outcome would be 1 male and 2 females.
i believe 6line wrasses do the same but am not sure :notsure:

ahh yes.. thanks for the reminder.. def get in odd numbers.... i have three in my 45 and they work pretty well.. while back, i got 4th.. one of the 4 became the outcast.. (one of the old one's too!)
anthias, don't they require a larger tank than a 29 gallon?
grammas are nice...
but six line wrasse can be aggressive..

ahh yes.. next time i'm make sure to read before posting.. haha... but still, in terms of anthias, depending on which one you get, most require a min of 70 gallons.. your 75 would just hit the min.. you would only be able to keep one really... to keep one male with more females.. 125 seems to be the min... but there may be exceptions.. but i haven't seen it yet.

I have 3 green chromis in my 55gal and they are doing great. The 2 bigger ones hang out. While the little guy nips all of my other fish on the tail, and then he swims as fast as he can.
