Ive heard to age new water 24 hours before adding. Why?
I have an RO system.
Should I add salt and age or age and then add salt?

Ageing is actually time for airating. You should airate the water with a air stone or something for a day or so, not just let it sit.
This is because water has a low O2 level comming from the pipes and ground (yes even with an ro unit). It also allows for a strongrer ionic bond between the sodium and the oxygen molocules.

Oxygenation is a small but important part of letting water sit a while before adding to main tank.
Some serious aquarist keep water for even longer.
Letting water sit allows :
Ph levels to stabilize
Allow you to see if any nitrate in your water so you can take care of the problem.
Allow added salt to properly mix with new water( You should add salt to newly made water and then let sit for 1 or 2 days)
Allow proper water temp to be reached.
You should run a heater and small power head for circulation as well as an airstone.
