Tank raised neon gobies are tough as nails... but they only have a life span of about 1-2 years.

thats ridiculous... plz try to narrow it down a lil bit.
in just all around fish besides damsils... i'd say lawnmower blennies.
in more of a fish fish, (not just bottom feeders), i'd say some sort of basslet.

The tank bred bangaii's are pretty hardy.

I'd have to say aquacultured clowns also. Most aquacultured fish will be decently hardy...

Clowns and chromis are damsels, also.
I would agree with the grammas on hardy (and colorful!), but are they peaceful? I have never had one.

I once had a 48 hour power outage. Even with warm water changes and a battery backup for the heater, my temp dropped to 55 degrees in that time and mind you, no circulation or lights either!
The power came back on and all my kids were still alive!!!! :joy:
2 Cinnamon Clowns
1 Yellow Tang
1 Royal Gramma
1 Yellow Tail Damsel
1 Fire Shrimp
I am convinced my fish are tougher than me. They are all still going strong!
