What are the names of those bad anenomes?

I was wondering what the names of those bad anenomes were? It's the brownish ones that no one wants and they spread like crazy.

My advice, and probably the cheapest and easiest way:
Boil some distilled or RO water (whatever you use for your tank), and use a dropper to squirt the hot water at the aiptasias; It will usually kill them.
Otherwise, you could try lemon juice, Joe's Juice, Kalkwasser, or certain inverts (I've only used the hot water method)

i have over 100lbs of LR in my tank and i have never seen one in my tank.... ive found other things but not those....

Peppermint shrimp will eat them all. I had Aiptasia all over my tank, dropped in some Peps (at the advice of the people on here) and within days all my Aiptasia was gone.

Could I get a peppermint shrimp and a cleaner shrimp or would they fight?
Peppermints are reef safe, right?

yes they are reef safe and yes they will get along with cleaners.

I got 3 pep shrimp, and ALL my aptasia was gone the next day. :jumping: There were 5 or 6 small ones growing, and the peps found them all!!!

You could also buy A Copperband butterfly fish. They love Aipstasia.

Well, I got two of them (peppermint shrimp) today. That's all they had. Thanks for the advice! Hopefully all goes well.

Yes, but once it is gone they will either DIE of starvation, or eat corals/polyps. Not a good choice in fishor solution to an aiptasia issue.
I have a 90 gallon and I have 2 cleaners and 5 peppermints. they keep it all nice and clean. I had aiptasia for about a week , but I have never seen any in 6 months since I added my peppermints.
Also, if you have time and the aiptasia is not "that bad" try joes juice. I used it in m 55 and it took care of the aips, before they got bad.

Are these peppermints nocturnal?

I believe they are nocturnal. I have three that only come out and get to work at night. I also had some bigger aipstasia that they didn't eat, and Joe's Juice took care of them right now.
