Hello, I am seeing more and more of these rubbery, branching organisms on the glass in my sump, does anyone know what these things are? Sorry I don't have a better explaination of them, I did pull one off the glass, it is rubbery in texture and has branches that attatch to the glass, they are only in the sump. hmmm?

Probably sponge, they will grow in nutrient rich environment with liitle light. Harmless, but good filter feeders.

wow, that is very interesting, thanks for the information, I am suprised there are many of them, and they are getting bigger, wonder if I can move a couple of them to my display tank under some rocks, they may be a nice addition!

If you have a lot it is worth a try. Must be kept under water though, air exposure will kill them.

I would feel better seeing a picture..."rubbery, branching" does not necessarily strike me as a sponge, though certainly it is possible.

Truthfully, I have no idea. It could be a sponge. But before throwing into the main tank...a picture would help
