What are these fuzzy white cones??

I have these fuzzy white cone lookin things sproutin up all over my tank. I think they entered the tank on a torch coral. They are all over the lower skeleton on my torch, glass, powerheads, heater, ext. Sorry about the weak description but do you have any idea of what im talkin about? I'll post pics tomorrow.

Most likely it is just the fans. Take the case off and look for the offending fan. $15 max to fix. If it is not that, then you may have real issues.
But if computer works, functions properly, then it is 75-90% going to be noisy fan.

Smoothhound, They are good filter feeders. They must like low light as I have them all over my sump/fuge but very few in my display tank.

Thank you jawfish. So to prevent them from continuing to pop up, I need to change the noisy fan on my computer? Awesome, i think it just might work.

yes yes the computer fan thing will keep your q-tip sponge population down, just like walking backwards in a rain storm will cause Aptisa to melt.

ohh man really?!?!?!?!?! and all this time i was tryiying to kill them with peps ... but now thanks to you i can stop spending money :D
