What are these?? please help

Found these all inside my Sump. :help:
Anyone have an idea what they are and... i hope they are beneficial....?

Q-tip sponges, harmless filter feeders

do they only grow where they don't get hit with light? i have a couple in my tank, but tons of them under my filter pad and behind my biowheel. i was going to get around to posting pics, but i haven't yet. lol. i just thought it was wierd to have sooo many of them!

Thank goodness they are harmless, I have about a thousand of them in my 20 gallon sump! lol :scared:
The last thing I wanted to do today after breaking down my 30 gallon was round up a thousand of these lil buggars! he he he
