Basically sounds like you are seeing an increase in scavengers (microbrittlestars, worms) that would be correlated with an increase in nutrients. It may just be normal maturation of the tank, or that you are just noticing them now....
How old is your tank? What are your specific water parameters?

also (like they said) run carbon and do small constant water changes
