What are these?

Purchased lr from a person who was breaking down their tank to fw. The lr has a lot of these growing, and getting larger as the weeks go on. Any ID's would be appreciated, thanks!

Looks like all the pics I have seen of aptasia...look it up...the threads will tell you how to get rid of it.

Thanks! I see the 2 most popular solutions are 'joes juice' and peppermint shrimp. I have placed an order for some peppermint shrimp, and a few other goodies I have been wanting. Some people have good luck with the shrimp, others do not it seems, so I am going to try that 1st. If that does not work I will go with the 'joes juice'.

Make sure the peppermint shrimp you get are Lysmata wurdamanni the Caribbean type, they are the Aiptasia eaters not the Lysmata californica. Also be aware the peppermints may only eat the smaller ones not the larger. You may have to use some chemical treatment on them.

Thanks for the additional info! I just confired on swf site that they are the right species, and most of my Aiptasia is fairly small (well, what I concider small), i would say most are only 1/4" and one or 2 are about 1/2". Hopefully that is not too large for the shrimp to feast on.
I wish I would have been more active in this forum a few months ago! I thought the 'aiptasia' was a 'good thing', and did not want to disturb so i did not scrub the lr. Never encountered it with my other sw setups before.

make sure u dont use too much lemon juice as it may cause a severe drop in your pH. Thus having the possibility of killing your tank mates
