Hi,im Hans,new to these forums,i have a 35 g fowler tank thats almost a year old,lots of live rock,3 percula clowns,2 yellow wrass,s,3 snails,5-7 blue legged hermit crabs. all paremeters"ph ect."are fine and have been for a long time.i had red alge all over all my rock for some time,now i noticed its going away,then i spotted these 2 things"see picture"what are they,where they come from and do i have to do anything diferent then i have to maintain them?

Aptasia. They are a pest and should be killed. there are as ton of threads on differant ways to do this.

+1 joes juice is in your forcast. they multiply rather quickly.....

but they look nice?since i have only live rock and 5 fish,cant i keep them?or,,,will they harm things?

I didn't kill mine at first.. big mistake.. now there all over my tank and its impossible to manage. I brought stuff to kill them on amazon it works really well but, you just have to keep up with it.

If you can keep on top of them. they are pretty neat. Maybe keep it down to 1 or two. Like stated tho, one day you see one or two and next thing you know you have a crap load of them and it's to late to control from there.

I used aiptasia x and they were gone with the first dose just b sure to turn all water flow off when dosing

Lol, it's a pain in the butt that one...
I tried alot of different medication but they kept coming back. I then got a maroon butterfly fish then voila! Wiped clean.
some shrimps do an excellent job as well.

They sting everything from corals to fish. They are very very aggressive little buggers. If you can't kill them with some kind of product I would suggest getting a vicious angel fish that will eat all forms of anemones/corals or a copper-band butterfly, Some peppermint shrimp are known to eat aiptasia.
