What are you favorite MH Bulbs?

Need new bulbs on well established tank. Want to add a clam but everything in the tank looks great now with 2 5500s and 2 50/50s.

MH for a clam...I'd say a minimum of 250 6500 K's or 10000k HQI's

I really like the color of the Venture 55Ks, although they lack in intensity, as far as PAR. I had three 175s over a 75 and they worked great for everything, including a large T.squamosa. Over the summer I replaced the middle 55k with a 250 65K, green in color, but still not bad, although I much prefer the color of the 55ks, In a few days I will will replace all my lights with 2 400 watt 65ks, not sure what those bulbs will look like. I also have a 55 that I run two 175 ushio 10Ks on and I love them, they are bright, as far as PAR, and the color if fantastic, the bulbs are little more expesive than the lower K bulbs, but well worth the extra IMO. Depending on how the 400 watt Iwasakis turn out I may look into ushio 10ks for my 75 as well. HTH

5500k's - YUK...I HAD 3! I've switched to 10000k BLUELINE - Love the look. 5500k's were way to yellow for me.
to each their own.

I prefer 6.5k iwaski. For me I get bet growth. I've use 10k and 20k. But it maynot matter in the 400w range(k used). Mine doesn't look yellow =I use 4 110w vho and I have a blue background. I choose blue cuz in the ocean it is blue looks like opean reef= my tank. I had black also. But since I prefer blue it probally takes away any yellow I can't see.

I like the 10,000 Ushio- crisp color. I also have a lower spectrum bulb on the same tank, although more yellow in color my leathers seem to really love it. Colt is exploding along with the cabbage and pin cushion.
