I use Red Sea Coral Pro,so far so good.My alk is on the low end but all in all i like it.

I've always used Reef Crystals. I wanted to change and try another brand but decided to stick with what works for me. I never had a fish die, never had ich, all my corals are big and colorful, no pH problems, no Nintrates. Reef Crystals works for my tank.

Is it bad that I switch brands?
I just usually buy what I can afford at the moment.
Right now I'm suing Aquatic Gardens. Its the cheapest I found.
I used to use Instant Ocean, and some times Oceanic.
I tend not to buy things like that from LFS because the price is so high. I usually just pick up whatever from PetsMart, or ***** when I'm buying cat, and dog food.

I think it's good to pick one type of salt and stick with it. If you constantly switch, your water parameters will fluctuate too much since each brand has different amounts of trace elements, calcium, magnesium, alk and so on.

My question is why change from Tropic Marine Pro Reef salt?
I use it, seems to be pretty good. I switched from Reef Crystal and finally my coraline started to grow more, my coral growth has been improving, adn things are more stable.

We are starting to go with either 50/50 IO and Oceanic or 60/40 IO and Oceanic. Got a tub of both and from what our local reefers have found, that is a great combo.
