I see some incredible pics on here and I was wondering what camera are you using? Brand, model, megapixel, ...
I know lights, angles, etc help in taking a picture but I guess I good camera wouldn't hurt. I have an Olympus model 3030 which is 3.3 megapixel and is almost 6 years old now (ancient in technology years). Hard to beleive this camera cost $1k when I bought it :scared:

Thank you... I think the 35mm lens has a lot to do with it as well.

just graduated from the Cannon G3 to the Pentex ist digtial SLR. Love the pentex, I can use some of my other 35mm lenes for now until I can reinvest in the new digital 35mm lenses.

I use the Cannon G-5 as well, however I'm still looking for a lens that will focus from Michigan to St.Louis MO. so I can get a good shot of Lovethesea.

Well it sounds like I may need to upgrade my camera. I think I would like the SLR or something that can use various 35mm lenses. I need to update myself on all the available camera features available. I would especially like a camera that can focus close up. My camera is supposed to focus up to two inches but I can never get it to do so and I have tried just about every camera function. I am writing down all your camera models and will do some research later on. With all the money that's already gone into the fish tank, what's a new digital camera going to hurt? Wife may think differently...might have to convince her we need a new camera since we have a new baby. That's how I got away with getting a $1k camera with our first child

Just a word of experience here.....those of you with the Cannon G2,3,5 and 6, don't waste your money on the extra lenses that are available. Especially the zoom lens....you have to zoom past a certain point on the lens or you get a "vignette" (spell)

With dSLR's it's not the camera that allows macro's, it's the lens you attach. For example I have a Nikon 70-300mm zoom that doesn't do macro, but Sigma makes a lens for Nikons that's also 70-300mm but also has a macro setting.

Thanks for the explanation. If I keep looking at the excellent photos, I will be getting a new camera very soon

I've been waffling on the choice between a D70s and a Rebel XT for awhile now. I'm pretty sure I'll be going with the Nikon. They're pretty close builds when comparing, but I think the D70 just has a slight edge. Course, I'm always interested to hear from anyone who might've used both. :)
