I got a tank setup from a neighbor and he gave me Coralife 50/50 6000k actinic and Eclipse Natural life bulbs. My tank is 55 gal. Can I keep anything under these lights? I had someone reply to my last post and he told me to upgrade lights asap but that I should be ok for now, but I was wondering if I should put anything in there at all. I just started cycling water today so I'm not in a rush but I was wondering if I should save up for lights or for some fish lol. I have another light fixture that's too big for 1 of the 2 lights but way too small to use alone (I'll let you guys know what it is when I get home). Thank in advance

Nor sure what the wattage on your light is, but it seems low. IMO, get rid of the 6000k, its an algea producer. I would suggest at least 10k bulbs

Well, the first thing is, are they basic flor., T-5, PC, or MH and what wattage?
You can keep fish and LR under just about any light system as long as it is bright enough for you to see in the tank. I agree dump the 6000K bulb you don't want it.
If you plan to keep coral then you will definately want to upgrade your lighting before you buy any corals.
Personally I would avoid PC lighting all together, and would look at T-5 and MH depending on what you really want to keep in the tank.
