What can west coasters use in place of South Down??

Is there another kinda sand that people on the west coast can get from any kind of hardware store. I will not go to the beach and steal sand there is so ---- in that sand its not even funny!!!!

i have heard of SD being sold as far west as Ohio but thats it as far as I know

On another message board I'm on I was fortunate enought to catch someone throwing a "Southdown Party". Basically, one guy with garage space orders 55 bags from Home Depot (the minimum to get them to deliver it) along the way getting orders from everyone interested in getting some.
Total cost to me for 150 lbs of the best reef sand in the world? Try $30.00.

I think that i may be on to some type of substitute for us on the west cost. It cost 11 bucks for a 40# bag and is "Pure Aragonite". email at option720@yahoo.com. Viking there may still be hope!
