which charcoal is better kent marine or marineland?

I exclusively use Chemi-Pure carbon filter sacks - they are easy to deal with and work GREAT (about $6.99 for a bag that last about 3-6 months)
I tried the other types - add to your filter and they just were a pain in the but to get clean enough to safely put into the tank.

I like the Marineland....seems to do a very good job.
