There is 30 pounds of live rock

choc chip stars i've heard are not reef safe...so if you want corals i would suggest either putting some in a different tank or moving teh star to a different tank. but i don't knwo the full extent of there dangers so it may be fine

The cc star is not reef safe, of course you could probably keep one for months without any problems. But then again, you could come home and not have any corals left. Well they don't eat that fast, but you get the picture.
you can keep most all soft corals with what you have. zoos and mushrooms will be fine. star polyps and leathers will work as well.

You do NOT have to individually feed shrooms and zoos. I have the same power compact light system as you and keep shrooms, zoos, button polyps, and star polyps quite easily. I also have a 29g tank.

i do put phyto in from time to time, most of my corals get little bits of mysis or brine and seem to do pretty good. It definitely wouldn't hurt
