What corals do my lights support?

I have the Eclipse 3 hood on a 29 gallon tank with two 24" T8- 20watt bulbs. I was told that it could support some species of coral. Is this true?
And are there any corals that don't use light to feed or is the Christmas Tree Coral the only one?
Oh and how do you go about cooling the tanks because the lights heat it too much?
Thanks

You could probably get away with some mushrooms. Feather Dusters also don't need light. As well as sponges.
Stay away from most others. If you want to keep corals I would recommend upgrading the hood. I started my saltwater aquarium experience with a eclipse hood and ended up throwing the thing out.
Search the boards and you should find all the info you could want. hope this helps and good luck

brain coral is more of a moderate light coral. i would suggest upgrading your lights if you want to keep corals in your tank.

ive had success with leathers under normal output lights too. try some shrooms, zoos, and star polyps too.

Thanks now I know what corals I can get (basically none
) Maybe later i'll try x-mas tree or sun coral, but at least now I don't have to worry so much if the things in my tank are reef safe

I'd say you could have some luck with at least some shrooms. There are a bunch of corals out there that don't require light, but they are very difficult to keep and require pretty frequent spot feeding to help stay alive. I wouldn't try any of them until you've had some expirience with other corals first.
Good Luck with whatever you decide =)
