I saok one day in selco...the next in garlic. Food is soaked every day. Be careful not to over do it and foul your water. Sounds like he is doing better.

My local aquarium shop told me that if I use anything other than distilled water I would more than likely loose my clown fish. I don't know if this is true but I only use distilled water and Instant Ocean.
No problems I've had other than 1 time having red slime and I think that was my fault. This was over a year span. Of course I only had 1 yellow tail damsel, 3 bumble-bee snails, and the 10 blueleghermits was added at the end of the 9 month range. This was in my current 10 gallon tank.
But again I don't know if that is true or not. But I won't test it.

Are you buying them from the same place? If so I would go elsewhere to get my fish. We have a LFS here that I go and buy dry goods from..but thats it. Their tanks are disease haven, their filter tubes are full of dead fish, I mentioned it to one of the girls that worked there and she just shrugged her shoulders and gave me a look.
I don't even want to buy dry goods from them because they could care less about the health of their fish and I feel like I'm supporting them when purchasing anything..but the store I have been going to for years has shut down, I have little to no choice right now. They currently have seahorses there, I wish I had a tank big enough and alot of money (they are getting $65 a piece for them) to buy every one of them just to get them out of there.

Having had him for 2yrs likely rules out a lot of whats been posted. I dont know what's wrong but if the temps have been fluctuating the same way for 2yrs without being problematic I'd rule that out as well as anything related to capture/collection. without visable indications (marks, sores, visable parasites) its almost impossible to know for sure. All you can do is what your doing and hope for the best unless something more concrete develops.

Please don't get mad at me for saying this but my local pet shop told me once that if one of my fish die or if they start dying I could bring in one and they would cut it up and tell me what disease's it has.
I could never do that because all my fish are like dogs or cats. They have names and I truly do love them.
