I would say that you can keep almost everything, all LPS, and you could give SPS a try if you like but I realistically think all SPS require MH to survive.
LPS - Large Polyp Stony coral
SPS - Small polyp stony coral

i have a 29g also. what would be better in the long run? these or metel halides. i just can't decide. it would be cool if everyone posted the ups and downs of both metel halides and t-5's.

mh= they are expencive, they run hot and they use alot of wattage, and the bulbs only last about 4-6months but they give a very nice glimmer effect.
t-5s they are exspencive but better in the long run. they last about a year (the bulbs), alot less wattage, and alot alot less heat. but they donty have the glimmer effect.
the only thing that makes t-5s so good are individual reflectors and i dont think nova has them i think there are just one reflector so i wouldnt recomend it. try TEK the best, and other ones that have individual reflectors

I say that not to offend, it's just my opinion that if you ask "what can I keep with these?" you probably don't want to stretch the limits. I've seen acropora under PC's for god sake. Have they 'not died' yet...yes, but nobody has ever shown me long term success with GROWING SPS and clams under PC's or T-5's. T-5's are great lights and a lot of bang for your buck but until I see a tank with a group of staghorn growing past the water line, and all they are exposed to are T-5s or PCs, I'm just not going to believe the AVERAGE reef keeper should buy into it. It's just my opinion.

I'm just not that "into" the debate on T-5s v halides to send my email address, sorry. Plus I don't believe the lux put out by T-5's are enough for the average keeper. We've taken a relatively benign question and turned it into something else.

For a little more , you can get 54 w t5's, around $300. A lot more light for the money. I just got some with, moon lights, and 6 bulbs, for $325.
