what did I do wrong

The last time I wrote was complaining my lionfish would eat. After advise from you guys I got him to (like a pig) but I had to stick the food on a pin and get him to go after it amd I had to bump it on his face. but with a baby I am not on that often and never gave an update. My problem is now he is dead:mad:
He died yesterday. His breathing was fine, his colors were great but it was like someone burned his fins off all he had were his spines. He ate on Friday night and was fine. By Sunday he had no fins. BY mon night he was dead. Now a few weeks ago I ran out of Krill and gave the fish squid I had purchased for the fish as a treat. I cleaned it and all its ink but he spit it out, Someone said I could have poisoned it but my dottyback is just fine. It was only the two of them in the tank. So did I do it? Did I kill my fish?

Well it seems to me most likely the lionfish contracted some kind of bacterial infection. It normally happends when it gets a cut on its skin or when water quality goes down. Check your nitrates, ph, nitrates and everything else and see what it says. Remeber, 25%water change every month for optimum water quality. W
Without knowing exactly what happend in your fish tank, ei: water quality, type of filtration, size of tank, amount of livestock, agression I cant say exactly what happend but sounds with the info given prolly bacterial infection that ate away at your fish.
Did you happen to notice any changes in your lion before it died?? Little white spots? Puffy clouded eyes?? Changes in behavior??
All this info will help to decude the culprit.
