What do copepods look like?

I want to get a mandarin fish, but I can't tell if I have enough copepods.
I even went and bought a bottle of them from SWF, but it just looked like some green sludge with no distinguishable animals.
Can anyone describe and/or share a pic?

How long has your tank been up and running, and where are you producing the pods? Do you have a sump or refugium?

Tank has been running for about 3 years, but the butterfly was removed about 2 months ago. I stocked pods in refugium.

you wont see the copepods on the rocks. you'll see the ones on the glass if you get right up on it. they will look like white specs of debri or something on the glass except if you keep looking you'll say to self "wait a minute that white spec is moving. there are some bigger species of copepods (like if you buy tiger pods ect) but I have never seen a large common hitch hiker copepod. Amphipods on the other hand can be seen from a mile away in all their detail. you can watch them for hours on any given night after the lights go out or night and day if you have a fuge with cheato or no competitors.
