Recently upgraded from a 90 gallon to a 150 gallon tank, fish , inverts. Planning on adding a few mushroom rocks to add some color.
I'm up for some good critisism.I know we have critics on this site.I'll take any advise on filtration as well.

I like it. I would eventually ditch the bio balls or at least make sure you are giving them a good cleaning but not all at once. With that much sand and rock you should have enough biological filtration. You could stand to add more LR. You can fit a lot more in there. Finally you should consider a background to give your tank some depth and hide the cords. I like black and prefer paint but it's to late for that now. I like the idea of using auto tint on the back but it's may need replaced down the road if salt gets between the tint and the glass.

I agree with everything earlybird said.

It's a great start and you have plenty of room for lots of great fish and coral.

yeah once i get more live rock i'm gonna remove those bio balls. I like adding a few pieces of lr at a time.we think the same my last tank i had the black background.Brings out the colors in the tank more. The stand is still a work in progress so i have the cords in tie wraps and ready to be screwed to the back of the stand once i get all the panelling of the stand up. thanks for your advise earlybird, How many more lbs of lr do ya think i should add? The thing is i like alot of swimming room for my fish especially the tangs?

Well, it looks like you have LR in the sump already, so if that's really what it is, then you can go ahead and remove those now.
I like swimming room too, so I keep around 1 lb per gallon of water. Many people keep more than that, but that's just my preference. Besides, if you start out there, as you get coral you'll likely add some pieces that are attached to rock as it is, so it adds to the LR amount in the end.

when you add the LR make sure you don't get a mini cycle. If its fully cured and not out of the water for very long you should be ok. Shrooms sound great, they spice things up and are easy to take care of, they are also easy to frag and reproduce easily.
I think the tank will look fuller w/ more LR.
Looks good so far

yeah i'm adding cured rock about 5 lbs at a time. i dealt with the whole reef thing and didn't have enough time. so the mushrooms will brighten my tank and easy to care for, thanks for advise
