Yep, been here 2 years...got 2 more to go, unless I IPCOT. I love Alaska but man, I can't stand not being able to order live and/or guns/ammo. There are soooo many online companys that offer free shipping to the lower 48 but it's double to ship here.

Your looking in the wrong direction my friend. Look for happiness not financial wealth. Trust me man, its better to be happy than wealthy. When most guys start bragging about how intelligent or wealthy they are its often a sure sign of insecurity. If your happy you dont brag, if your a good person you help others. Why would anyone who is suffering want to hear about someone elses success. Do what makes you happy, if your good at it wealth will follow. True happiness comes from helping other people not mutual funds.
Best regards

I go to the Senior homes twice a month with my boxers, my god the faces just light up, they scramble around in their walkers to be next in line, then we have room visits. Problem is that a couple of the smart ones have decided to to save their morning bacon and sausage and use it as a bribe to get flash (my male boxer) to come over and give them some loving, he loves to lick. But the bacon and sausage give him gas so bad it'll peel chrome off a trailor hitch so I have to watch them like a hawk.

We're not ready yet, hopefully by the end of summer....I'd really like to go to a place with terminally ill kids...I'm sure it would be tough to see them, but I can only imagine how happy they'd be to see some cute pups.

I am an estimator at a mid sized excavation construction company.
I estimate excavation and paving quantities and price jobs.
It's very detail oriented and very stressful, but for some reason, I enjoy it.
As a matter of fact, three other estimators and myself just finished pricing a 5.5 million dollar job. Hope we get it.............
Anyway, no job, no matter how much it pays is worth having if you don't enjoy it.

Well, I guess while we're off the subject let me respond.
My question to Phixer and statement of the 2.7M may have come off wrong.
I have goals that I want to achieve in life, one is to retire at 55. I used the number 2.7M as a number to which I want to reach. I have many hobbies but can only afford one at a time. The yacht thing, yes I want to buy a 40+ feet cruiser and I want to pay for it with cash. I have some credit card debt and want to get out. I have plans to invest for retirement, my daughter to go to college (as well as my nieces and nephews). I would love to pay off my parents house and buy my sister a house.
I, too, have been pursuing a CGC for my rottie and when he gets a little older we will try the Therapy thing.
I AM happy...I love my wife and daughter and am making financial goals. I apologize if you have a problem with that. Just seeking advice on how to get there from someone that is "filthy stinkin rich". I'll keep it to myself in the future, stick to aquatics and hope to see you on the water someday...drinking lattes together.
