It does not melt. I have 130watts of PC and 40 watts of NO on my reef, and 80 watts of NO on my FOWLR. No problems at all.

Thats a pretty good idea...save some cleaning time. I dont know about a vho or MH system though. Seems like it would melt under that kind of heat. Honestly, I really dont know anything about saran wrap melting point though
