I float them for maybe thirty minutes, then drip acclimate them for about another 15-30 minutes. Shame on me for not having a qt tank set up. Bo

I do quarantine all new arrivals. I've decided that from now on I'm going to go ahead and do hypo on them before placing into the main tank. 1 of the last tangs I had did great in the q-tank, and then after 4 weeks I placed him into the main tank, and he broke out in ich.

i first acclimate them, then place them in their own little bowl and slowly add my own water in the bowl...after about 30-45min i place them in my tank, then i add some meds in the tank..usually i ad meds every once in a while anyways.

Float for 30 min and drip acclimate for another 1 hour. QT always sounds great but everytime I've done it I've killed fish.

I float the bad for 30 minutes then acclimate them to the tank water over the next hour.
Why would anyone fresh water dip a new fish ? That is something that i have always seen as a very last resort. Sorry don't care for fresh water dips.

After 25 years of keeping marine fish, we just put them in the tank.
We've lost more fish doing it the "right" way by far, but it helps being able to recognize healthy fish and being aware that many petshops have their saltwater tanks on just one large filter system.......don't just look at the fish in the tank that you're buying from, but also all the others along that wall, at a minimum.
