Hi! My open brain coral has always liked silversides, but he seems to be loosing interest. What do you feed your open brain coral?

Reefkprz nailed it.
Cyclops really seems to get them to open as a feeding response but then mysis along with homeade gruel to let them grab onto something really meaty.

you have to go and search another web site but it comes in different forms. the one i use is made by Liquid Life. its called MarinePlankton. its in a pump bottle and you just keep it frozen and pump it in when you want to. your corals will go crazy and so will your fish and inverts.
there is also a frozen stick that i have found at my LFS. its cheaper and more of it, but i can't find it on the web. i can't remember the name of it off the top of my head.

How do you feed an open brain? I thought they were filter feeders.

They do filter to some degree, hit or miss, but have tenticals to grab at meaty foods. This is what they like the most. To make them grow, and thrive, you need to spot feed them. I feed mine mysis.

You feed them at night right? When their tentacles are out.

I place thawed silversides on his mouths. If he is hungry he will swell up and and you can see his open mouth taking the fish. Of course, if he isn't quick enough all the other critters will steal the fish.
