Michael Vick had a cup with a hidden compartment confenscated at the Miami airport... aledgedly the cup smelled of marijuana and some unreported substance was found in the cup... Vick was allowed to get on the plane and go back to Atlanta... the Miami police dept still doesnt know if they are going to press charges...
IMO i think that he should have been treated just like any other joe public... cuffed, stuffed and body cavity searched... then suspended by the league for 3 to 8 games... perhaps Vick becomes very tradable now and next season he wont be a Falcon...

a majority of the smartest kids in college attribute there good grades to smoking pot.
most of the kids getting A's on papers attribute it to smoking.

Michael Vick is one of the most overrated players in the NFL. He cost Jim Mora Jr., a great guy and coach, his job. It always seems like everyone sticks up for the guy and is afraid to criticize him because of his skin color. I personally think the media did/does the same thing with Aaron Brooks. Aaron Brooks held the New Orleans Saints down for years. I'm sorry, but call a spade a spade. There are plenty of PHENOMENAL African-American athletes. Michael Vick and Aaron Brooks are not two of them. Send the credit to people who deserve it.

in my lifetime, I have not seen a player more overrated than Ron Mexico. now, he was a GREAT player in college. speed like that can make college defenses look stupid. but when you have NFL defensive LINEMEN like Julius Peppers and Dwight Freeney (not to mention linebackers and DBs) that can run him down, it's a totally different game.
but no, it's going to be next to impossible for Atlanta to get rid of him. he is completely worthless unless he agrees to play a different position, which he's said he won't do. on top of that, his contract is WAY too much for such an overrated player, so most other teams wouldn't want him. I think it's hilarious (since I'm a Panthers fan and the Falcons are the Panthers' most heated rivalry). they actually have a good QB (Matt Schaub) who's not had a chance to play. I do predict though that a pass happy coach like Petrino won't put up with Ron Mexico's terrible numbers.
as far as him not being treated like an average joe......I heard he acted suspicious when the the bottle was thrown away, but that the plane had already taken off before the bottle was actually checked. they said they only checked the bottle because of how he'd acted.

Mora cost him his own job....
He said that he wanted the job with the Huskies..They asked if h e would leave his team for the job..He said "I would leave in the middle of the playoffs"
Arthur Blank got rid of him...Cant blame him..Would you pay someone that much and have them not be loyal to you...Hell no..

He was only willing to leave so easily because the team did not care about winning with him as the coach. It was a bunch of egotistical players, with a few exceptions (Warrick Dunn being one of them). Michael Vick was the biggest "me player".

Lion I absolutely agree with your first and and this staement.... I am not racists , but call me crazy I see more and more athletes pulling out the race card these days.... Michael Vick isnt anything special, Aaron Brooks, Mcnabb. They really arent GREAT athletes. Look at Mcnabb he has never REALLY had a stellar season and Jeff Garcia proved he is the better QB out of the 2.
Aaron Brooks will never amount to anything above second string. Michael Vick cant get the job done under anybody. Kordell Stewert was waaaaaaaaaaaaay overated.
If you want to look at great Afro American QBs, why dont I ever see Randal Cunningham Mentioned, How about Warren Moon, you could even go as far as a young Dante Cullpepper. Its not that the media is targeting you as a black QB you just arent great. Nuff said.
There are tons of black athletes that are great..... Look at the NBA .... would it even exist without the blackman?

Oceanists, I totally forgot about Kordell Stewart! He got SOO much credit and he was worthless. Just another example...
Even in the NFL, there are tons of fantastic African-American athletes, past and present. Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, and Barry Sanders were all amazing in the 90's. Today, LaDainian Tomlinson, Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt, Chad Johnson, (the list goes on and on) are equally as amazing. Give the credit to guys who deserve it. I don't care what race they are. Focus on the talent.

Oceanists, I don't agree about McNabb. he is a good QB, and no, Jeff Garcia is not as good as McNabb. Steve McNair and Warren Moon are 2 other great black QBs. Vince Young looked good this year, but time will tell. but yeah, Vick and Aaron Brooks are busts, and I believe Culpepper is too.
