What kind of heater can I use with my canister filter? I read something about a ETH..... whats that? I liked the idea about it being used on the filter and not in the tank.
what does ETH stand for??

You're talking about the Hydor heaters. I'd wager this is probably a model kind of thing.. like "Honda Accord EX"
I just got through researching the same thing... I hate equipment in the tank, and I am setting up a Cichlid tank, and am using a canister (I usually use sumps/wet drys), so I was looking at the same product.
Reviews are mixed, and I don't like seeing that much plastic in any kind of heater, so I think I'm gonna just deal with a submersible and use a Jager.
