What else will I need?

I bought a 40 breeder, stand, coral light (forgot kind it was about $250), and an XP3 filter. Do I need anything else other than a skimmer for a projected midsized bio-load? I will be putting either algae or crushed rock in the bio chamber of the filter. It's rated to 125 gallons of fresh water and my lfs said to about cut it in half for salt, so that's a 60 gallon salt filter, I've seen mixed reviews on it, any opinions? Also, is there a recommended way to hide the intake or disguise it, or is it one of the things where it has to be away from rock with good flow around it? Thanks guys.

Welcome to the site...Power heads..you have to have a power head. I don't know what a XP3 filter is. Go to the search found under the home tabs. Do a search for....foamback project 101..... for an awesome idea on how to hide stuff and make your tank look great.

Thanks, I found it does have a power head, the XP3 is a bio/chemical/mechanical canister filter. Also is 350 Gal/h enough for a 40 reef?
