Ok the tank is cycled and already have some hermit crabs and snails. Its time for the fish, but what fish? This is where I need help. What should be the first fish you put in. Then what kind of fish after that one. I guess to summerize it, what is the hardiest fish, then moveing up to more sensitive fish.

Clownfish or chromis are typically the fish people start their tank with once it is cycled and has had its first water change.

I am a big fan of tangs. What tang first and when can I add it. I have heard that the yellow tang is very hardy. In your opinion, Which should i get, the blue reef chromis or he green chromis, and how many at a time.

Tangs are not good starter fish at all. They need establishing to established live rock.
Either chromis are good. What size tank do you have?

I agree, Tangs are not a good starter fish. The only really hardy tang is the yellow and they are very territorial and should be added last.
A group of green chromis are really pretty, hardy, and not as mean as their cousins the damsels. Add a odd number to prevent fights. A tank that size, I would add at least 7.
Is this your first saltwater tank? If it is, kind of big for your first tank. But more forgiving.....

That's awesome that it is such a large tank! I would go with 10 green chromis to start. Do you have live rock in this tank?

Well to make a long story short, My dad and I are doing this together. He has the money, I have the Ideas. WE used to have a 125 gallon salwater and got rid of it because of , well, some finacial problems. But thats solved and here we are today. Im thinking of becoming a marine bioligist. This is a GOOD START.

Well unfortunatly, there is no fish or corals. Kind of waiting for a few fish and corals to be in the tank. Unless, you want to look at a tank with just rock in it. The demensions are: 8ft x 30 inches wide x 24 inches high.

Yes, I believe it is. We bought it used from a fish store near us. The owner of the fish store says it was too small for him. He is ordering a 900 Gallon tank for his store. He is a jerk so we wont be dealing with him again.

Other then wanting tangs it is a good idea to decide what you want to stock with. Make a list and post it on here and then people can give more opions of what order, what goes together and reef safness.

My plan for my 240g stock is:
2-true percula clowns
1-yellow wrasse or some kind of small wrasse
1 Neon goby
1-Midas blenny
1-blue hippo tang(remember, already have her and she needs to be upgraded)
1-Copperbanded butterfly
3-Heniochus diphreutes
(3-7)- Lyertail anthias
1-Minic tang
1-Coral beauty or flame angel
1-I.O. sailfin tang
1- other tang-White cheek, clown, or naso
1-Green mandrine or possible mated pair.
This is my work in progress list for FOWLR tank. Maybe some ideas for you though?

Well since you asked, here it is. Since it is a big tank, this will be a big list. I already had this ahead of time.
-Achillies tang
-Blonde naso
-Blue hippo x2
-clown tang
-naso tang
-powder blue tang
-purple tang
-sailfin tang
-Desjardinii
-Sohal tang
-Vlamingi tang
-Yellow tang
-Blue reef chromis x7
or
-Green Chromis x7
-Flame angel
or
-Coral Beauty
-Green mandarin
-Lyretail Anthias x5
or
-Snuburst Anthias x5
or
-Sunset Anthias x5
or
-Bicolor Anthias x5
-Pair or one Gold banded Maroon Clownfish
Any expert in fish will have to tell me about wrasses. Well there is what I have so far. Make comments and tell me if there is something missing that you THINK I should have. Now that I narrowed it all down, which should I get first?
