Well my tank is around 3 months old and the green and purp is going well. Some are near covered. I do water changes once a week and run a skimmer. 10x tank flow.
Here is some info
http://saltaquarium.about.com/od/abo...oralline_3.htm
"SG apx 1.024
Calcium
350 to 480 ppm
Carbonate Alkalinity
Between 2.5 and 4.0 meq/L (7-12 dKH)
Strontium
Low Phosphates (Close to Zero)
Low Nitrates (5 ppm or lower)
Many aquarists have found that performing regular water changes will keep the phosphate and nitrate levels in check as well as keeping the calcium, alkalinity and strontium at or near their optimum levels. "

Whats the use in changeing your water weekly ?
Water changeing ???
The best solution for pollution is dilution.
If the lvl of your tanks water is off (pollution)....
The best is to filter it or (dilution)...
If you do not need or want to do (wc) you will need to up the filters.
In the long run (wc) is cheaper.
And if you add all the Chemicals you do not get with the (wc)....

Cheaper and better to do water changes. You add alot of things that are sucked up by corals, fish, inverts, etc. Getting a bigger filter, skimmer, etc will cost more and run up your electric bill, plus take up more space.
