Hey all, I have a biocube 14 gallon that i had running for 5-6 months with no problems. I moved the tank to a new house and no more than 2 weeks later my tank looks horrible.
We are talking green and red and brown algae blooms. My corals look horrible. And it all happened so fast.
Look at these pictures.
Here is what it looked like in tampa:

Here is a pic i took today:

I havent been able to test my water in the new house, but i think the phosphates might be high for the red slime algae etc.

when you moved your tank did you do a water change? did you use the same water? did you add your fish and such right away?

the first picture was when i was in school and i had it going in my dorm for months.
The other picture is what i just took after i moved it back to my new house. Different water... Which is why im thinking it might be that.
I have my test kit on the way so i will test and let you know. But we agree that something had to happen, months and then days.

+1 if you used completely new water then thats probably it. that or the sunlight coming through hitting the tank ...

You moved the tank. It is very stressful on the ecosystem we establish in our aquarium as hobbists. You just threw off the balance. Give it time and it should reach an equilibrium point again.

yea, completely drained and dried for 12 hours. Also completely new start up water. Tampa and Orlando are different water parameters i believe. Still waiting on my test kits to come in the mail. Hopefully it will come back because my coraline algaes all bleached and lost some LPS corals, but the zoanthids are doing excellent, even spreading like crazy.
