I bought a hawaiian blue spotted puffer among some other fish and today i just found him dead at the bottom of the tank. The thing is that the other fish are doing fine and he seemed to be doing the best of all. He would swim around the most and like to eat so i dont know why he died. There were no bite marks nor any type of disease on him at all. The only thing that i could think of is if they could overeat themselfves to death? Can this happen? Anyone else know what could of happened to my favorite fish? This sux.

i have a 30 g with a lionfish and a porcupine. The porcupine was the one that i was worried about but now im wondering if he's gonna make it. the porcupine is the one swimming around slowly and not swimming at all. I have skimmer, filter, lr, all the stuff needed to keep bioload down. I dontknow, it's like a murder mystery....

Do you have any powerheads for circulation?Sounds like maybe not enough O2.I hope you realize that porcupine puffers will exceed 1' in length, and a 30 gallon tank is'nt large enough.Also...it is possible that your fish was stung and killed by the lionfish...how big is he?A 30 is'nt large enough for these either..unless it's a dwarf.Also..you stated that you bought the puffer.."along with some other fish"..did you add them all at once? How did you acclimate them? What are your water parameters..amm.,trite,trate,ph,alk,temp.and SG.??

i have a powerhead that is suppose to be for a 75 gallon so i figured 1 would be alright. Also, the lionfish is just a baby, literally 2 and a half inches body length. All of the fish have been peaceful towards each other which is why i dont think the lionfish would of attacked for no reason. My water peramiters were all fine except nitrates, they were a little high, but nothing to be alarmed about. I did a water change about 4 days ago, but i used pre-mixed saltwater from the lfs so i figured it was good water to use. The salinity was .24, but when mixed with my tank water would of come out to be around .22 or so. Also, i know my fish will def. outgrow this tank. I knew that the second i bought them, but right now i am trying to do the best i can in taking care of them and will upgrade within the next couple months. Any more help or advice i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the help so far.

forgot to add, i did the drip acclimation for 4 and a half hours for them and i put them in together at the same time. I figured this way, no one would be picked on bc he hasnt had a chance to find his "home" in the tank.
